PAMIS BURNS NIGHT SUPPER

Along Came Kirsty (ACK) are a community interest company who work with charities and third sector organisations. Their main objective is to promote and fundraise for social enterprises in the Dundee area through event management.

Myself and an associate worked together in volunteering for A.C.K throughout our final year of university. This experience allowed us to gain insights into the different components that make the company so successful and understand the values and mentality that Kirsty and her team live by.
Work experience with A.C.K

Pamis is a charity that gives crucial aid to young people and families who are affected by mental illness. The burns supper was a great success, raising more than nine thousand pounds over the course of the evening. The thistles we created were the centrepiece of the night and were the main feature of a fundraising game.
It was important to incorporate ease of storage into the design, as the product will be used in similar events in the coming years. We therefore created the thistles in a modular way that could be easily assembled and disassembled in order to conserve space and keep them in a good condition.

Our roles within the company allowed us to expand our knowledge through a range of varied tasks and experience the different aspects of what ACK do.

Alongside helping to organise and fundraise for events, myself and my partner were in charge of creating products specifically tailored to each event. In addition to this, we also put together an inclusive investment package that was used as part of an event which celebrated the company reaching the one million pound mark of money raised for local charities in the last four years
